We will put information here that we think will be useful to parents

If you have any suggestions for other information then please let us know via garethw@stonescouts.org.uk

On the second Saturday of every even month (Feb, Apr, Jun, etc) between 10:00 to 16:00 hrs we meet at our Scout Hut to carry out Hut Maintenance Sessions when routine and planned maintenance and improvement works are undertaken. We are really happy to welcome parents who have the time and inclination to lend a hand. The jobs range from sweeping leaves and weeding through to building trade skills and not forgetting tea & coffee making. If you are able to help then please mention it to one of our Section Leaders or Gareth our GSL to check the maintenance session is going to happen.

Our Group Executive Committee meets for a couple of hours on 6 evenings a year in odd months (Jan, Mar, May, etc) to look after the administration and governance of the Scout Group. Every year the Executive Committee organises an Annual General Meeting (AGM) on behalf of the Group Scout Council where reports, financial statements, committee elections/nominations, etc are included. All members of the Group Executive Committee are Trustees of our Charity. We are really happy to welcome parents’ representatives onto the Committee and would encourage anyone who has the time and inclination to become a member of the Committee.

Our Group Scout Council meets annually for an AGM which happens early in each calendar year (usually mid February) to Support the proper running of the Scout Group and Charity and is the electoral body to which the Group Executive Committee is accountable. The Group Scout Council is open to parents of all current group members and former Scouts and their parents may also be admitted.
